Hopefully our little sign will deter any theft this year,fingers crossed. Maybe we’ll even get some some workers out of it!!! If any of you fine people know of some woofers(willing workers on organic farms) looking for a place to stay pleeeeeease tell them about us!!! We will feed them & house them well.

Today I am glad to free up space in the greenhouse so I can plant more stuff!!!!

Today I am thinking about the flavour & sweet texture of tayberries,yummmm.So glad I decided to train them along the fence instead of letting them go feral. More berries & less scratches. good job self!!

It’s Vintage time again people!!!! We will be participating in our first sale of the season at the lovely swallow field farm.  This is a multi vendor show which means your chances of going home with something heart shattering is pretty darn good. Alright, I know I’m laying heavy on the garden/food posts lately but that is what’s on the forefront people!!!!  If all you vintage rummagers & furniture fanatics hang in there I promise to start posting fun bits for you next week,kisskisshughug.

O’k back to the Pantry Party……….Every season I garden,weed, can,weed,can,buy bulk fruit,can. So this year I thought wouldn’t it be great if I could spend less time canning. Yes,yes it would……..    Lightbulb moment inserted here..

I am officially inviting you & all your friends  to join me this season in stocking your pantries. The idea is to gather a group of people together who, can,freeze,dry,ferment preserve food.  Then we get together & swap it up!!!! We can either do a controlled swap,as in 10-15 people sign up  & everybody makes say 3 of 1 (we’ll all make something different so we don’t end up with 30 different salsa’s) item for each person & then we switch & everybody would get 30ish jars or if a ton of people sign up we could just do a free for all????? I am totally open to your ideas & suggestions on how this could work so if this sounds fun to you or if you know of somebody who would love to join please pass the info on.

Only popping in here for a few moments. Today was crazy, too much driving & not enough home time. I am exhausted but I promised I would post here everyday-ish & if I break down 3 days in, I’m a goner……. So I leave you with some photos of food to come & promise to blab about something interesting tomorrow.

Tomato seedlings  moved from in house to green house yesterday. All got potted up to bigger pots & seem to be doing well. 107 left 4 didn’t make it RIP

Last fall I transplanted all the rhubarb into this row of the garden. It is coming along nicely but we won’t start harvesting till next season. We want these plants to focus all energy on building strong healthy crowns.

Double the garlic that we planted last year!!! 140 cloves & I can’t wait to pesto the scapes, yummmm

Sadly somewhere under all that grass  is my strawberry patch. Top priority weed & manure strawberries. Boooooo

We live on a fairly old farm & often find bits of garbage/treasures, especially after a rain. So when my daughter called me out to see what she had found I wasn’t surprised until I hit the door & saw her lugging THIS through the field!!!!!Wow…. She had dreams of her daddy fixing it up so she could ride it bu she was sadly informed that it was just too rusty. So a home was made for it in the garden & I can’t wait to to put potted flowers in the old child’s seat on the back. Now if your anything like me your probably thinking how cute it would be with a basket on the front………..Well yahoo it came with a metal basket on the front too!!!(it fell off while we were getting it over the fence) Seriously my imagination takes off thinking how cute this bike looked in her heyday.  I am so happy she will spend her senior years in our garden,all gussied up in flowers,rust & all.  I’ll post some photos after the makeover.
